Logo Design Process: Oldham Youth Forum

Design Brief:

A new non-profitable Charity Organization called ‘Oldham Youth Forum’ were in need of an identity to kick start their campaign.  The aims of organization are to help support the local youths in the local community and prosper them with a better future through the organizations support and guidance.
The look and feel of the logo has to illustrate a welcoming feel, freedom, fun, safe environment, colourful, energy and illustrate youth.
The final logo had to work both in full colour and also solo black and white, to make it more versatile to implement across all mediums of the organization from stationary to physical implementation of the logo on uniforms etc.
The logo had to be also iconic, where it can be used as just an icon on its own without the Organizations name, to make it further more versatile.  The icon needs to be aesthetic and clearly state the organizations aims and objectives of helping Youths.

Concept Evaluation:

The final Logo Identity successfully met all the requirements of client as stated in the initial design brief.  Firstly the blue and green colours create a harmonious look and feel to the logo.  The colours itself is very welcoming.
The icon is formed inside of a circle, the circle representing the ‘safe environment’ the Organization hope to achieve for the youths, by creating a safe boundary for them.
The use of negative space inside the Circle symbolizes happy, active, youths.  The Logo works both in full colour and solo colour, and works as an icon on its own.  This would allow the logo to be implemented well across all of the Organizations activity and material.
Client Testimonial:

"Working with Shahed was a great pleasure.  From start to the finish of the project he was very professional about everything from listening, communicating to designing.  His understanding for design is amazing, where every little aspect of detail is thoroughly analyzed and supported with a valid meaning.  Not only did he create a fantastic Identity for the Organization, he also educated us about good design along the way, and how to make the most out of the new identity effectively.  This also opened our eyes to the importance of good design.  It’s been a great experience working with a great designer very closely, well done Shahed".
