Logo Design Process_Stock Box

Design Brief:

An upcoming online business selling variety of stock online from electronics to clothing etc. Similar business venture to Amazon and eBay.
The client wanted a simple iconic logo which reflected the company as Modern, Technical, and Dynamic. The challenge was to avoid the clichéd concept of having a 4 sided geometrical ‘box’ as to illustrate ‘box’ in the client’s company name. The challenge was to think more outside of that ‘box’.

Brainstorming:
Quick brainstorm to generate ideas and pathways for initial design ideas

Design Idea Sketches:
Leading on from the brainstorm, I start the initial design sketch process.  At this stage I explore with creative freedom. At this stage any little idea is sketched down.  Most ideas will be redundant, but the important thing is to explore the best possibilities.
Exploring Various different fonts to see which one suits the Client's name best

3 Presented Concepts:

These are the 3 presented mock up designs I presented to the client, where they choose 1 to develop into the final

Chosen Concept Development:

The Client chose Idea_03 to develop further into the final.  At this stage, I work closely with the client to develop the chosen idea further, by exploring, further possibilites such as colour variations, font variations, layout variations and adding or removing content.

Final Stock Box Logo Design:

Firstly the choice of font was a very modernistic font which has good curves and linear structure. The font also has a ‘box’ feel to it because of its geometrical shape and form.

The concept was the ‘O’ in the word ‘box’ would be simply constructed in a way which represented an iconic box. The ‘box’ is in perspective to add that sense of Dynamic feel the client wanted from the logo. The ‘box’ can also work as a stand alone icon for graphic purpose for more opportunities. The logo also works well in black and white as well.
